To mark World Refugee Day 2018, the Refugee Food Festival comes to 14 cities worldwide, including Mytilene, Athens, Brussels, Madrid, Paris, San Francisco, New York and Cape Town. On 20 June, a special Refugee Food Festival event will be held at Nan restaurant on Lesvos island.
This year, residents and visitors on Lesvos island will have the opportunity to mark World Refugee Day by eating food from Ethiopia, Pakistan, Syria and Afghanistan at Nan, a café-restaurant in Mytilene at 29 Komninaki str., which was founded by four women with the aim of working together to find solutions to benefit both refugees and local people.
On this occasion, Nan restaurant and UNHCR Sub-Office Lesvos invite you to book a table after 20:00 this Wednesday, 20 June, to celebrate the resilience of refugees around the world and commemorate World Refugee Day.

The menu, priced at 20 €, includes dishes such as the following:
“Doro Wot” (chicken, onions, tomato, spices)
“Koyo Wot” (beef onions, spices carrot potatoes)
“Biryani” (yellow rice with spices and herbs)
“Khorma” (chicken, yogurt, spices)
“Lahori Janne” (chickpeas cooked with spices)
“Fattoush” (Crispy lettuce, crunchy fried squares of pita, diced tomatoes,
cucumbers and onion, garlic, lemon, olive oil and mint)
“Shex Al Mahshe” (courgee with minced meat , yogurt sauce)
“Bolani” (fried potato pitas with spices)
