36 refugees in Kardamyla, Chios
At noon today, a patrol boat of the Chios Port Authority spotted in the sea area northeast of Kardamyla in Chios, a rudderless inflatable motorboat with a sufficient number of foreign refugees - migrants.
The crew of the vessel, according to a statement of the Coast Guard, made the immediate rescue and rescue of 36 foreigners (29 men, six women and a minor), while the inflatable boat was destroyed. The foreigners were safely transported to the port of Chios while they are to undergo a registration procedure at the Closed Controlled Facility of Chios.
